Egypt: Brothers, Daedalus

After an eleven month break, I was looking forward to get back underwater. My trip brought me back to Marsa Alam in Egypt. From there I took a one-week liveaboard to Brothers and Daedalus National Park. The highlights of this trip were the drop-offs / wall dives and the Sharks that can regularly be encountered in that area.

Already on our first dive at Small Brother Island we spotted Treasure Sharks, a Shark I never encountered before!

And it kept getting better. We spotted Treasure Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Grey Reef Sharks and White-tip Reef Sharks. Almost on every dive one of these Sharks made an appearance :).

The boat we stayed on was the Heaven Saphire, a 5-star liveaboard, and even though it might have been a bit more expensive than comparable trips, it was well worth it. Everyone on board was very dedicated to our well-being and the food was excellent!

We spent the last day of our vacation in Port Ghalib near Marsa Alam and I used the spare time to look for and find the only Geocache in the area! It was cool to find my first Cache in Africa :).

More pictures of this trip can be found in my web album.
